Not just a 40-year resident, retired small business owner and dedicated family man, Redondo Beach Mayor Steve Aspel is your neighbor, your kid’s soccer referee, a school volunteer and a fundraiser for RBUSD. Steve understands our community because Redondo Beach is his way of life.
Steve moved to Redondo Beach in 1976 and married his best friend from high school, Pam. He and Pam have raised four children in Redondo Beach: Kristen, Pat, Catie and Brett.
Steve is a retired small business owner who knows the importance of a business-friendly climate and a robust local economy. Affectionately known as the “Pot Hole Mayor”, it’s Mayor Aspel’s attention to detail that makes a real difference in our lives.
An active, engaged member of the Redondo Beach community, Steve thrives on making our corner of the world a better place.
“Zero the Hero” for the last 15 years – a comic character that visits kindergarten classes (Tulita, Birney and Alta Vista) on the 100th day of school to help Kids learn how to count to 100 by 10’s
